One Last Bog View... And Finally, Dryden!
Waterloo to Calgary in a Cessna 150
It's getting bumpier all the time, and very hard to take
pictures. Suddenly, the image card is full anyway, so I'm out
of luck on both counts. No more bog pictures until Dryden!
Too bad--we're only half way there...
Arrival at Dryden Airport at 3 p.m. I actually wouldn't mind a
short nap. The airport is practically empty at this time. I find a
quiet corner where I can do some stretching exercises and put
my legs straight up. Werner comes in after refuelling, and
mistakes me for an upside-down statue. He downloads my
day's picture output --365 images--onto the hard drive, so I will
have another opportunity to get some more bogs..
The airport has appropriate decorations hanging from the
ceiling. A woman arrives with three small children who
immediately notice the model plane. "It's a water bomber!"
the little girl exclaims. They all marvel at this, and then
giggle, "A water bomber inside a building! Hahaha!"
As Werner goes to check out weather conditions for the
next leg, he points out the airport clock showing an hour
behind our watches: Dryden is already in the Central
Daylight Time zone. We get to set out an hour "earlier"!
